Jenny Spinner speaks at SPJ Awards Banquet

The annual SPJ awards banquet was held on Thursday, June 8, 2006, at the Down Town Club, atop the Public Ledger Building at Sixth and Chestnut Streets. The guest speaker was Jenny Spinner. Jenny, a St. Joseph’s University assistant English professor, is co-author with her sister, Jackie, a Washington Post reporter, of¬†Tell Them I Didn’t Cry: A Young Journalist’s Story of Joy, Loss and Survival in Iraq. Ben Franklin’s printing shop plaque rededicated

Despite steady rain, descendants of Benjamin Franklin and members of the SPJ Greater Philadelphia Pro chapter were among more than two dozen people at a ceremony to rededicate a plaque marking Benjamin Franklin’s printing shop as a “Historic Site in Journalism” in Philadelphia on April 8, 2006.
